May Fourth Message to All ZHENGCHANG Employees: With the Aspiration of Youth, Embark on a New Century-Long Journey

Dear young colleagues and all our colleagues:
Hello everyone. Today is the May Fourth Youth Day. Looking back over a century of momentous events, the rallying cry of the May Fourth Movement in 1919—embodying the spirit of “patriotism, progress, democracy, and science”—awakened a whole generation of young people and infused our nation with an inexhaustible youthful vitality. Meanwhile, in 1918, our predecessor, the Zhenchang Oil Mill, was founded at No. 225 Damao Street in Liyang. The original aspiration to “revitalize China and pray for national prosperity,” resonating in harmony with the spirit of the May Fourth Movement, has long been etched into the very essence of Zhengchang.
From “Zhenchang” to “Zhengchang,” through a century of trials and tribulations, we have steadfastly upheld our humble original aspiration. In our early days, our sole mission was to ensure that ordinary Chinese consumers could enjoy safe, reliable cooking oil. Over time, we expanded into feed machinery, steel silos, oil processing, premixes, and other fields, guided by the industry vision of “producing one pound of meat from every two pounds of feed.” Through continuous technological innovation and upgrades to equipment and processes, we have helped elevate the quality and efficiency of China’s agriculture, animal husbandry, and grain‑oil sectors—all in pursuit of providing consumers with safer, higher‑quality food and oil. Along this journey, what has enabled us to navigate market cycles and advance steadily over the long term is the youthful spirit ingrained in every generation of Zhengchang employees: an unwavering commitment to never settle for the status quo, to boldly take risks and explore new possibilities, and to always do what is difficult yet right.
Mr. Chen Duxiu once said: “Youth is like early spring, like the rising sun, like the tender sprouts of a hundred flowers, like a sharp blade freshly whetted—truly the most precious period of life. To society, youth is as vital and vibrant as fresh, living cells within the body.” This statement is both a tribute to the awakened youth of a century ago and a call to action and an expression of hope for every young person at Zhengchang today.
May every member of Zhengchang always maintain a spirit of progress, refusing to be swayed by the voices of “lying flat” or “slacking off,” and never settling for the status quo or going through the motions. Even refining a single process or perfecting a set of plans is the best way to honor yourself and your role. This unwavering dedication will become the source of your confidence in the future. May we all stay true to our commitment to seeking truth, preserving that bold, fearless spirit of “a newborn calf is unafraid of a tiger,” daring to speak the truth and courageously offering constructive suggestions—without striving to be “nice people” at all costs or reluctantly echoing others. The company will always stand behind those who dare to uphold what is right. And may we all shoulder our responsibilities with resolve, refusing to compromise on the smallest details unseen by others—ensuring every weld is secure and every set of data is meticulously verified.
Dear young colleagues, striving is never about catering to others—it is about becoming the best version of yourself. Every effort you make and every step of growth you take may not directly shape Zhengchang’s future, but they will surely light your own path ahead. Youth is not a matter of age; it is a state of mind. May each and every member of the Zhengchang family forever cherish this youthful spirit and unwavering sincerity, living up to the trust and expectations placed in us over a century, and together forging ahead with determination for Zhengchang’s next hundred years—and for the future that belongs to you.
